Records and Information Management

Program Information

Businesses, not for profit organizations, and government agencies are being challenged to manage complex information from many sources. Organizations need to maintain pertinent records and information in response to government regulations, company policies, and business competition. Individuals who can create and manage such systems are increasingly in demand. These individuals have excellent communication skills and are organized with strong attention to detail. Records and information management professionals contribute to efficiency of an organization’s operations through the provision of systematic information resource control, from creation through use, storage and final disposal. As technology plays an increasingly important role in the storage and retrieval of information, students need to be familiar with computers and software. Library technicians, human resources professionals, office administration and business graduates will find this program invaluable as a professional development opportunity. It provides the opportunity to learn about and keep up-to-date with the growing field of records and information management.
